Your Mission 

As a technical writer at Improbable, you’ll work on making sure our customers, partners and users have the information and resources they need to use our platform and related tooling successfully. From getting started, to completing integrations, installation, and administration across a single synthetic environment, your documentation will be essential to our success.

Creating comprehensive, accurate, and easy to use set of digital user documentation covering everything from getting started through advance usage and administration of our platform technologies and support tooling.Ensuring digital user documentation is accurate and up to date with a quickly evolving set of product offerings.Customers, partners, and users are happy and feel supported while using our platform due to the comprehensive documentation.Our platform’s ease of use is a strong retention factor, and the user documentation is a key contributor to this success


You’ll take the lead for our Mandarin-speaking users: you’ll help decide what is needed to support them, and responsible for producing that content (whether writing it from scratch, or translating it).You’ll focus on user-facing documentation, but also might work on command-line help, copy and help in our web UIs, blog posts, and more. To see what our documentation is like, go Depending on what’s needed, you’ll write, improve, maintain, translate, review, and delete documentation, in collaboration with engineers, QAs, and product managers. We have a strong culture of developers contributing to our docs, so collaborating with developers on what they write is a big part of the job.You’ll also keep a close eye on user feedback, and use it to prioritise what technical writing work we should do next, and to advocate for improvements to our products.Foryour day-to-day work, you’re likely to be embedded in our product team in China. You’ll also be part of the team of technical writers who work together across Engineering.


  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Telecom, Computer Science, Software, Automation, Electronics etc. area. Or language majors with working experience in technical fields
  • Minimum two years’ experience of writing user-facing documentation in either English or Mandarin.
  • Experience working with software engineering teams, practices, and tools
  • Great vocabulary, literacy, and cross-cultural knowledge.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, in both English and Mandarin. CET-6 or above.
  • Ability to learn about complex technical topics and explain them clearly.
  • Ability to empathise with your target audience, and advocate for them.
  • Ability to write, review, and publish a high volume of content on tight timelines and across multiple projects
  • Ability to lead improvement of user documents based on consumer feedback and reviews.

Experience of the following would be advantageous

  • Experience as a technical writer/translator in Game and/or Cloud industry
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment.
  • Practical experience with software version control systems (eg Git).
  • Experience in web page, poster, UI design
  • Coding experience, and ability to write code snippets.
