London, UK; October 8 2018: Today Improbable announces that it is moving its UK headquarters from their first central London office in Farringdon to a new office in Spitalfields in the Tower Hamlets Borough of London, to accommodate its growing team.
This move to a larger office follows a number of positive events in recent months including a strategic investment from the leading Chinese Internet technology company NetEase, the opening of a new North American office in Edmonton and the creation and imminent release of new Game Development Kits for its core platform, SpatialOS.
SpatialOS allows a swarm of hundreds of game engines, running in the cloud, to cooperate together to simulate a world much larger, richer and with more players than any single engine or server could.
Founded in 2012, Improbable is dedicated to enabling the creation of large-scale, simulations and models, which can create game worlds or detailed representations of the real world.
The company now employs around 320 people in its London office, with other offices in North America and China. It has so far received around $600m in funding from investors as influential and diverse as the SoftBank Vision Fund, Andreessen Horowitz, Horizons Ventures and NetEase.
Herman Narula, Improbable’s CEO and co-founder, says:
“We have been working hard to hire the best and have grown a lot in the last few years. Improbable has simply outgrown our first central London office.
“Our new office will be a place where we can focus on enabling our partners and community to create the next generation of online games and simulations using SpatialOS.”
Improbable is continuing to grow and is actively expanding its team in London. The new office at 10 Bishops Square incorporates 58,000 square feet of office space, meeting rooms and recreation areas. It has the capacity to house over 500 staff, providing room for further growth. The company recently received a top 10 placement in the 2018 LinkedIn Top Startups List, thanks in part to employee growth, jobseeker interest, and the level of professional engagement with the company and its employees.
